But you don’t need a pressure washer, or expensive cleaners to get it gleaming.
A savvy homeowner transformed her patio with just two products most commonly found inside the home.
Abi King took to the Facebook group, Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips to share her hack.
Her post read: “Yesterday I used ‘The Pink Stuff, The Miracle Cream Cleaner’ and a Scrub Daddy and transformed my patio.
“It might not be the best effort you see on this page however I gave it ago.
“And I think it’s a great improvement with having scrubbed it myself and thrown water over it afterwards to rinse it – no power washed used as I don’t have one.”
The Pink Stuff Cleaning Paste costs £1.50 and is available from most supermarkets including Tesco and Sainsbury’s.
The Miracle Cream Cleaner is also by The Pink Stuff and is only £1 if bought from The Range.
As for Scrub Daddy, the Original is £2.75 at Sainsbury’s, meaning Abi spent just over £5 on products to clean her patio.
Abi’s patio transformation impressed many people and they commented on her post.
Jenny Hughes wrote: “Wow you did that without a power washer?! Fair play to you!”
Julie McCarthy said: “Well done! It looks great. I would never have thought to use it for this job so thanks for the inspiration!”
Abi replied to Julie: “That’s okay, I wasn’t hopeful at first but once I rinsed it and let it dry it was great!”
Susan Davis added: “I always use Pink Stuff on everything. Amazing stuff.”
Anita Mistry said: “Wow it looks fabulous. Well done you,” whilst Joy Lamplough added: “Good job! looks fab.”
Debbi Gill wasn’t convinced Abi’s cleaning hack would work, so she “tested one bit with Pink Stuff spray and a scrubbing brush” and her patio slab was left looking sparkling.

How to clean your patio with The Pink Stuff in 3 steps:
- Apply The Pink Stuff
You can either use the paste neat by scooping it onto the slab, or mix with water according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Then, using a scrub brush or sponge, apply the solution to your patio slabs, making sure to cover the entire surface.
- Scrub the patio slabs
Once you’ve applied the Pink Stuff, it’s time to start scrubbing your patio slabs.
Use a stiff-bristled brush to scrub the surface of your slabs, paying extra attention to any areas with stubborn stains or grime.
Be sure to use firm, even pressure to get the best results.
- Rinse and dry
After you’ve finished scrubbing your patio slabs with Pink Stuff, it’s time to rinse them off.
Use a hose or bucket of water to rinse away the cleaning solution, making sure to remove all traces of Pink Stuff from the surface of your slabs.
Finally, allow your patio slabs to air dry completely before using them again.
