EMMY Award-winner Alec Baldwin isn’t the one calling the shots on his family’s upcoming reality show, a body language expert said.
She claimed the actor looks “low energy” throughout the new trailer for The Baldwins, with his wife Hilaria Baldwin reining him in instead of focusing on their noisy kids.
Alec, 66, and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, 40, announced last week that they are entering the reality TV business.
They shared a trailer for a new TLC series on Instagram.
Footage showed the married couple sitting on a sofa in their luxuryGreenwich Village living room.
Amid screaming kids running across a white fluffy carpet, Alex claimed his show would reveal “the ups and downs, the good, the bad, the wild and the crazy.”
Body language expert Judi James said the Concussion star looked “clamped” during his reality debut, and Hilaria came across as a “space invader.”
According to People, the couple pitched their idea to TLC in 2023.
The series is set to premiere in 2025, and filming in the couple’s townhouse is soon underway.
“Alec was either seen sitting or standing in the middle of a chaotic world of noisy disorder,” James told The U.S. Sun.
“At one point, he was the only object of stillness or low energy in the Baldwin living room.
“At times, Alec stared into the camera with his mouth clamped.
“Hilaria’s energy and noise ended up matching the kids.
“Her body language suggested Alec was on a short leash for their new reality TV project.”
According to James, the mom of seven tried to keep her husband “anchored.”
“She kicked off their side-by-side piece to camera,” she said.

“She quickly pulled Alec up about his shirt hanging out of his trousers and then later about getting his lines wrong.
“Hilaria’s first gestures showed she was the dominant space invader.

“Interestingly, Alex fluffed his lines in the trailer toward the end,” said James.
“His final misdemeanor after the sloppy shirt was to get his lines wrong.
“Hilaria shouted at him straight away and scolded him.
“After that, she was seen waving a hand with spiked fingers before falling onto the floor to join the chaos with the kids.
“This left a tired-looking Alec sitting drowned out vocally on the sofa.
“There is a human tsunami of seven noisy children running around shouting and yelling.
“In the end, Hilaria reprimanded her husband twice but not the kids.”
BIG FAMILIA
Alec and Hilaria met in a New Yorkrestaurant in 2011 and began dating.
They married in 2012 and are about to celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary.
The pair have seven children, including Ilaria Catalina Irena, 19 months; María Lucía Victoria, 3; Eduardo Pao Lucas, 3; Romeo Alejandro David, 5; Leonardo Ángel Charles, 7; Rafael Thomas, 8; and Carmen Gabriela, 10.
Hilaria wanted to ensure he was compliant.

James said Hilaria wanted to make sure her husband was “compliant.”
“At another point, Hilaria had turned her head to correct Alec about his messy shirt,” she said.
“Alec’s response was immediate, and she wanted to ensure he was compliant.
“His hands rose in a gesture of subtle shock.
Alec does manage to stay in on most of the action, although it is a struggle for him.

“He pulled his shirt down over his crotch obediently in a barrier gesture.
“This seemed to endorse their comment about having no more kids.
“His hand rose to his face in a partial cut-off ritual.
“Hilaria tossed her hair in an assertive ritual and sat with her thumbs steepled in a gesture of authority.
“He was later seen hitching up his loose pants.”
Interestingly, Hilaria has spoken about managing seven kids and having another baby.
“Giving birth is like going down a water slide that’s really scary,” she said.
“And then you get to the bottom, and you’re like, ‘I want to do this again,'” she told Romper magazine in 2023.
“Throughout, Alec does manage to stay in on most of this action, although it is all a bit of a struggle for him,” added James.
“There is so much going on all at once.
“Hilaria and the kids do circle him like satellites at times, despite her need to control everything.”
HOLA, TV!
Aside from being married to Alec, Hilaria previously garnered attention in 2020 over misrepresenting her national origin as Spanish.
She spoke in a Spanish accent on Good Morning America after marrying Alex.
Following backlash, she denied cultural misappropriation and said she grew up bilingual and had spent time in Spain.
In a 2020 interview, Hilaria claimed she moved from Spain to attend NYU and that her maiden name is Thomas.
The Baldwins’ new show announcement comes ahead of the actor’s July trial.
The movie star faces 18 months in prison if convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the 2021 fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins.
The cinematographer died after a prop gun Alec was holding accidentally discharged on the set of his movie Rust in New Mexico.
Several team members, including Alec, were charged in connection with the shooting, with two convicted.
Since then, the 30 Rock star has kept a low profile. He also maintained his innocence.
