A REALTOR with a keen eye for interior design has shared his must-try tips for revamping homes on a tight budget.
Among his hacks is a cost-effective way to make living spaces instantly look sophisticated.

Eric Bramlett is a realtor and owner of Bramlett Residential, a mid-sized real estate brokerage in Austin, Texas.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, he shared his budget-friendly home transformation tips.
PRICELESS PLAN
Bramlett said he’s seen every type of decorating dilemma throughout his years in the industry.
From maximum cramming of furniture to “spartan rooms” that feel cold and unfinished, he’s learned a key lesson.
“One thing has become very clear to me – you don’t need a limitless budget to achieve a polished, livable look,” he said.
“With some smart planning and by avoiding common traps, you can truly transform your home’s vibe without breaking the bank.”
SAVE SPACE
Bramlett said decluttering as part of home upgrades is “underrated.”
“A clean, uncluttered home sells itself as sophisticated,” he said.
“Take some time to really think things out and find smart storage solutions.
“Built-in shelves, under-the-bed bins, over-the-door racks – these kind of customizable storage ideas keep your belongings neat and out of sight.”
He revealed that overcrowding is a common mistake when decorating homes.
“It’s easy to want to fill every corner with furniture but less is really more when it comes to achieving that airy, spacious vibe,” he said.
BRIGHT IDEA
Bramlett said homeowners should seek ways to embrace natural light in their houses.
“Instead of heavy drapes that block everything out, opt for some nice sheer curtains or blinds,” he said.
“Light, airy materials will make a big difference – they allow sunshine to stream in and bounce around the room, instantly making the space feel brighter and more open.”
“Layer in some table and floor lamps to provide different dimensions and flavors of lighting throughout your spaces.

He said creatively placing mirrors can help to shine light in desired areas.
“You’ll be surprised how much additional light and sense of space you can create just by hanging up a nice mirror above the couch or by the entryway,” he said.
“Try placing one strategic mirror in each main room and you’ll see a difference.”
“Also, avoid relying only on ceiling fixtures for light,” he added.
“Layer in some table and floor lamps to provide different dimensions and flavors of lighting throughout your spaces.”
