A WOMAN has revealed she gets so bloated after eating that she often pretends she’s pregnant.

Alma explained that she struggles so much with her body shape changing after dinner that she’s started pretending she’s expecting.

She demonstrated in a video on her TikTok page, as she showed herself leaving a meal in a bodycon white dress.

She clutched her stomach, which was noticeably protruded, as she strolled along.

Alma also pouted at the camera as she strutted her stuff, cradling her “bump” while doing so.

“When you’re bloated so you have to act pregnant,” she wrote over the top of her TikTok video.

And Alma even revealed to Fabulous that her pretence is so realistic that people often let her skip in front of them in the line for the toilet.

They also give up their seat for her on the train when they spot her stomach.

“I really appreciate it,” Alma told us.

“People are very kind.

“It’s such a painful thing.”

In the comments section, Alma quickly discovered she wasn’t the only one to suffer from painful bloating – or for her stomach to be mistaken for pregnancy.

“That’s how my stomach looks constantly, keep getting asked if I’m pregnant,” one person sighed.

“Someone offered me a seat on a train once after I’d been to an all you can eat pizza lunch,” another added.

“I did this today in Primark cos I was on my period,” a third commented.

With Alma replying: “Valid!”

“Someone asked me when I was due.. I carrying two week old in a car seat and just had chipotle,” someone else said.

“I was like… ugh two weeks ago.

“She said, ‘oh they come when they come’!”

“Me if I even look at cheese,” another added.

Bloating: Foods to eat and avoid

Eating the right foods can prevent bloating as well as reduce when it occurs.

But it depends entirely on what your symptoms are.

If you are bloated and constipated, eat:

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Bran flakes
  • Oats
  • Skin-on potatoes
  • Dried fruits such as apricots and raisins

If you have trapped wind, avoid:

  • Cabbage and other cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and kale
  • Beans (baked, kidney, butter)
  • Lentils

These foods, including pulses like beans and lentils, are good to add into the diet slowly as they are high in fibre.

While they are not advisable to help in the moment, they do help in the long-run by boosting gut health.

Try adding them slowly into your diet.

If you are bloated with diarrhoea, you may have a stomach bug and should eat:

  • Plain foods: bananas, white rice, bread or toast
  • Boiled potatoes
  • Oatmeal
  • Small and frequent meals

Other tips for preventing bloating are:

  • Exercise regularly
  • Chew with your mouth shut
  • Eat smaller more frequent meals than large meals
  • Avoid fizzy drinks, alcohol or caffeine
  • Limit processed, sugary, spicy or fatty foods

“So glad this happens to others too, I thought it was just me,” someone else said.

“Literally me every time I eat something!” another admitted.

“This is so validating, I get like this!” someone else wrote.

“Also you look amazing!”

Another called it a “fabulous hack”, while others were more concerned about where Alma got her dress from – to which she revealed she’d nabbed it from Shein.
