Like many of us, influencer Emily Bellusci had been desperate to add a fire pit to her garden.

Rather than spending a small fortune on a stainless steel one, the thrifty influencer decided to create her own using items she found at her favourite discount store: Home Bargains.

Though she is used to crafting and upcycling, even the Tiktok star was shocked by how well the DIY project turned out – especially as she spent less than an afternoon making it.

Showing her step-by-step process in a now-viral video, she revealed that the fire pit base had been made using a wine cooler she’d picked up for under a tenner.

She also found other budget-friendly buys to makeover the cooler, including fire-safe gold spray paint to give the kitchen gadget a beautiful brass finish.

The interior expert was far from done though, adding an old tin can at the centre of the cooler to contain the lighter fluid – for super easy clean ups.

Finishing off the project, she added some white decorative stones to give her fire pit a more high-end look.

In the caption, she gushed about how ‘beautiful’ and ‘effective’ the DIY project was – despite it only costing her £15 to make.

Her end result is even more impressive considering that similar stainless steel fire pits can retail for between £100 and £190 online.

If you are tempted to try this project, you can find the majority of essentials at discount stores – just like Emily did.

For instance, she bagged Home Collections Stainless Steel Wine Bottle Ice Dome at Home Bargains for just £9.99.

Meanwhile, the Fabulous Team found a 5kg bag of white decorative stones for just £4.99 in B&M.

The discount store also has stove top spray paint from Rust-Oleum for just £8.49, which is heat resistant up to 650 degrees.

Instead of spending hundreds to glam up your garden, you’d spend just £23.47 to add the trendy accessory to your space.

For those that aren’t expert crafters though, don’t despair as Home Bargains have a range of ready-made fire pits to suit every budget.

This includes the gorgeous Jardin Round Outdoor Fire Pit, which is currently only £19.99 in-store and online.

While we can’t guarantee warmer weather, you’ll certainly enjoy our garden with these stunning accessories.
