A MUM has brutally slated shoppers who are buying viral Aldi baby gear and then flogging it on Vinted for four times the price.

Furious parent Harriet Wallis, 25, took to TikTok to express her sheer shock after spotting a Vinted advert for a popular Aldi kids’ item going for an eye-watering £100.

But according to Harrier, some were then reselling the toys and gear for four times the price on Vinted[/caption]

According to the mum-of-two, who urged the popular online marketplace to resolve the issue, she had come across a Vinted seller attempting to flog the popular Aldi Bluey plush chair.

Hitting the stores earlier this year, in April, viral Bluey range quickly became a massive hit amongst shoppers, with toys going for under a tenner.

Amongst the items from the Specialbuys collection was the Bluey’s Ice Cream Station, Deluxe Park Playset, as well as Bluey Heeler House to celebrate the beloved Aussie cartoon.

But as the exclusive line was there for a limited time – with limited stock too – keen fans soon realised that some Aldi customers were reselling them for a fortune on platforms like Vinted.

The ad which Harriet had spotted on the app was for the viral Bluey plush chair, which the discount retailer was offering for £25 at stores.

However, much to the mum’s shock, the Vinted seller was asking for an astronomical £100 – or four times the original price – for the same product.

This is why they should limit to 1 per customer

The ad read: ”I know it costs £25 at Aldi. If you want, you can it there for that price.

”But you probably won’t get it there because it sold out very quickly.

”My price is £100 and I won’t accept anything less than that.”

The Vinted fan explained their logic behind the hefty mark-up: ”When something is wanted very much, its value increases.”

Gobsmacked by the price, Harriet, who posts under the username @wallisharriet, revealed that is was the description that got her ”the most”.

”Yeah, sold out very quickly – because low life scum like you are buying it and then putting the price up, triple, quadruple, to sell it on Vinted.

”I just think it’s really degusting.”

After spotting the advert on the popular platform, the horrified mother reported it to Vinted – however, they allegedly insisted ”that it doesn’t violate the community guidelines”.

”I just feel so sorry for the people out there that wanted to buy these, to put up for Christmas, for their children’s birthdays, and they’ve missed out – because of greedy, selfish people like this.”

When's the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items – when shops open

Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.

A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”

That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.

Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.

For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays

Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store’s opening time.

You don’t have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though.

They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can pre-order them up to a week in advance.

As long as you spend at least £25, you’ll get the items delivered for free.

Remember: once they’re gone, they’re gone, so if there’s something you really want, visit as early as possible

Harriet’s shocking discovery soon sparked fury amongst fellow parents and TikTok users, who raced to share their frustration.

One Vinted customer said: ”People were selling the Squishmallow from McDonald’s happy meal for £20.”

Another reckoned: ”This is why they should limit to 1 per customer.”

A mum added: ”My daughter’s birthday is soon and I wanted to get her one. I’m gutted.”

However, as angered as some may be, not everyone saw an issue with the astronomical price mark-up to rake in cash.

One TikTok user wondered: ”Why should Vinted remove it?

”This happens in every industry. If an item goes up in price due to demand, the owner has the right to sell for the price they want.”

”It’s the people that actually pay these inflated prices that make people realise they can do it tho,” someone else penned.
