Just like most of us, the stylish mum-of-three has also fallen victim to some rather questionable looks and choices – ones she now looks back on and regrets.

”Fashion fails – there are loads,” she recently confessed in an episode of The School Runway podcast.

”It’s when I’ve blindly followed a trend – it’s all well and good tucking into trends and I think as I’ve got older I know when I can work something into my wardrobe and my own style.

”It’s when you try to recreate a look or buy into something because it’s on-trend – and they’re the looks I look back on and think ‘Oh, it’s not really a bit of me’.”

Amongst some of the trends you would now never catch London-based Katie sporting is ”anything from the noughties”.

The early 2000s gave us some of the biggest icons in the history, such as Britney SpearsGwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera– but the legendary time period also left millions traumatised with its fashion.

”The fishnet vests we used to wear or all the luminous bangles,” the shoot producer and content creator reflected on some of the big style errors she made back in the day.

”And just like do big earrings with big necklaces, just kind of throwing it all together – too much,” noted Katie, whose wholesome and stylish Instagram page has won her close to a whopping 100k followers.

But it’s not just questionable accessories and noughties garments that have left the mum of three horrified – Katie has also had her fair share of fashion disasters with footwear.

”My fashion fails and my fashion mishaps, and fashion malfunctions – they all relate to shoes,” she chuckled on the podcast.

”I got a pair of Louboutin’s for Christmas years ago and then we went out for New Year […] – and then I fell over in my Louboutin’s on New Year’s Eve on the dancefloor… and I broke my wrist and my elbow.”

Despite the painful incident, it wasn’t until the next day that Katie realised her wrist was in immense pain and it took her another day to see the doctor at a hospital – and ever since then, the celeb-loved heels have become ”dinner shoes”.

”The shoes survived – but then they just became dinner shoes,” Katie said.

”Walking from taxi to restaurant, restaurant back to taxi… yeah, they are not for dancing.”

All the 90s trends that are making a comeback

We might be almost halfway through 2024 – but when it comes to fashion, many are looking to the past for inspiration and styling ideas.

Amongst just some of the once-popular trends that are set to make a comeback this season are claw clips and even the wobbly platform flip flops, which used to give our ankles a tough time.

The high street is also currently full of cargo pants, made a cult favourite trend by the stars of All Saints.

But they’ve now had a fashion overhaul, with models such as Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber all putting their own spin on the trend.
