THREE affordable ingredients can be combined to make a powerful hair growth solution, a professional stylist revealed.
He shared his expert tips for reducing shedding and improving the health of tresses.

Luke Sawyer is the Director at Taylor Taylor London Portobello Salon and has over 25 years of haircare knowledge.
Speaking to The U.S. Sun, he revealed they use the Davines Energizing range for fragile and thinning hair on clients.
He said it “gently cleanses” locks and isn’t harsh on the scalp compared to products with lots of chemicals.
However, there are also home remedies that can contribute to luscious locks.
“Over the years I’ve worked with lots of clients who have experienced hair loss and they always come back feeling more positive once they have been given and followed the right advice,” he said.
“There isn’t a miracle cure but there is always room for improvement.”
STRANDS SAVIOR
Sawyer said damaged hair can benefit from health-boosting treatments and gentle brushing.
He shared his highly recommended DIY remedy.
“Rubbing rosemary into your scalp can stimulate growth,” he said.
“Another great remedy is a spoonful of Moringa powder mixed with cloves and hibiscus leaves.
“Boil in water, leave in the fridge overnight, decant into a spray bottle, spray liberally on damp hair, and massage into the scalp.”
STYLE SAVERS
Sawyer said there isn’t a specific hairstyle that can reduce thinning but it’s possible to make tresses look fuller.
“Don’t hold on to long hair, cut it back to the fullest point, to make it appear more voluminous, so that could be a short haircut overall or maybe a bob length cut,” he said.
“Going for a stronger fringe and moving the parting detracts from thinning.
“Cutting the hair will certainly make it look like it is growing back more luscious and look healthier.”
HAIR HEROES
Sawyer said smoking is among the lifestyle factors that increase the risk of hair loss.
He revealed the damage to hair follicles and cells from smoking makes it easy to spot people who do it habitually.
What causes hair loss?
Luke Sawyer is the Director at Taylor Taylor London Portobello Salon.
He revealed to The U.S. Sun the common causes of hair loss.
“There are various reasons for hair loss in women, most often hormone related and can occur postpartum, during perimenopause, and most commonly menopause,” he said.
“It can be temporary or permanent.
“As well as being affected by hormones, it can be caused by stress, iron deficiency or anemia, medical conditions or a normal heredity part of aging – this is more common in men and, female Pattern Hair Loss, just like male pattern is an inherited condition.”
Alongside not smoking, he warned that people should maintain a healthy diet for optimal hair health.
“Lots of vitamin B and D from whole grains, nuts, meat, liver, chicken, fish, eggs, dairy, fruit, vegetables,” he said.
“Not enough essential fats, omega-3 and omega-6 shows up as dry, itchy scalp and skin so also have a diet full of fish, nuts, linseed, and whole grains.
“Magnesium is a great supplement, it plays a vital role in growing new hair and I tell all my clients from about the age of 35 to start thinking about a collagen supplement.”
Sawyer said collagen supplements can also be beneficial for menopausal hair loss.
The time it takes for locks to regrow varies.
“For example, menopausal hair loss isn’t often permanent but female pattern hair loss is genetic so unlikely to grow back,” Sawyer said.
“In this case, it’s important to look after the hair, treat it with care, and have a healthy lifestyle to make sure the hair is in the best condition possible.”
