EVERYONE and their cat seems to be selling on Vinted at the moment – and for good reason.

Not only is it a simple way to declutter and earn some extra cash, it’s also an easy app to use that let’s you keep all the money from your sales.

But as with most things that gain popularity – the more people that use the site, the more bizarre encounters happen.

And one woman has taken to social media to share the rude response she got from a potential buyer.

In the picture, the buyer was selling an adorable royal blue bikini on Vinted for £10.

But it seemed to be too pricey for one buyer who tried to haggle her down.

In the picture, you can see the buyer first asked to buy it for a measly £2 – an 80% decrease in what the seller was hoping to get.

Of course, the seller said no but the buyer was still trying her luck asking to then buy it for £2.50.

Yet again, the seller politely declined the offer adding ‘No, it’s £10.’

Still not giving up, the buyer then offered £3 but was once again shot down.

“No it’s £10, I’m not taking less for it,” the seller replied.

But it didn’t seem to go down well with the potential buyer.

Responding to the seller, the aggravated woman wrote: “Shove it up your a**e you cow.”

Horrified by the response the woman shared the interaction on social media where it was picked up by the Facebook page Great British Memes.

People were left stunned by the response, and many shared their own rude interactions on the site.

One person wrote: “Someone moaned at me for a blazer they paid £2 for smelling like perfume (even tho I’ve never worn it).

“I told them to put it in the wash because who buys second hand clothes and wears them without washing. apparently that makes me rude… £2.”

Another commented: “The best thing is when someone buys your item at the most haggled price ever and you actually let them have it, only to find them selling it on again for twice the price.”

“That’s nothing. One woman tried to buy 3 of my things and wanted to pay 2.50 for the whole lot! They were being sold at a 5-er each! The freaking cheek!,” penned a third.

Do you need to pay tax on items sold on Vinted?

QUICK facts on tax from the team at Vinted...

  • The only time that an item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then, you can use your capital gains tax-free allowance of £3,000 to offset it.
  • Generally, only business sellers trading for profit (buying goods with the purpose of selling for more than they paid for them) might need to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can use a tax-free allowance of £1,000, which has been in place since 2017.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “But would she take £4? Someone should ask.”

“Spot the person who never heard no as a child,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “This is what I was talking about when people offer way less.”
