Redditor Farewellarcadia knew she had lucked out as soon as she she looked at the label.

Once she spotted the Staub La Cocotte Dutch Oven, she wasn’t taking any chances.

“Tucked it into my arm and ran for the register,” she said.

The thrill over the thrift find had indeed taken over.

“Might have forgotten my child if she wasn’t already in the other arm,” she said.

A similar Staub Enameled Cast Iron Round Dutch Oven from Williams Sonoma sells for $400.

Known for its style and durability, the find is described as being ideal for slow-cooking due to its ability to seal in moisture along with its heat-retaining cast iron.

This might not have been her first money-saving rodeo, but according to her, it was the most rewarding.

“I’ve had some good ones but this is absolutely my best aside from finding a pair of expensive guitars at a hospital thrift shop last year,” she said.

“Those were a bargain, but not a steal,” she continued.

Other cooking fans knew just why she was overjoyed with the purchase.

“Very nice! I have one of these that was a gift and love using it,” said one Redditor.

“That’s the dream. Great job!” another user agreed.

Some shared their own thrifting victories – but she was still the clear winner.

“I got a legit Le Creuset for $60 once but this is just gold!” wrote one reader.

“I scored this one a few years back at a local indie thrift. I stole mine at $35. It’s my go-to pot for butter chicken,” yet another chimed in.

Still, others had questions.

“What’s the inside look like?” asked one curious reader.

“Classic jet black enamel and appears never to have been anywhere near a stove. The bottom is pristine as well. Seems to have lived on a shelf,” she replied.

It’s no surprise people were enthralled with the cooking gem.

The interior is also chip-resistant.

“I really don’t like to brag, but I was compelled to post this so that fellow thrifters might keep hope alive,” she said.
