THERE are three broken suitcases to spot in this mind-boggling brainteaser.

In the sea of topsy-turvy, colorful luggage, there are three that stand out.

PayingTooMuch has put together this challenge so you can spot the three broken suitcases.

This illusion seems almost never-ending as every free spot of space is jampacked with a suitcase which makes it much harder to focus on what you’re looking for.

Keep your eyes peeled for a suitcase without a wheel, one with both wheels, and another without the two lines down the front.

The suitcases to look for will be blue.

You may have to blink a few times to clear your vision as you look intensely at all the luggage.

Set a time for 18 seconds and do your best to spot all three.

If you’re able to find them before time runs out you have a high IQ and 20/20 vision.

Try to split the image into fours so you don’t have to focus on everything at once.

Are you having any luck? If you don’t want a hint or two, keep scrolling.

If you split the image into fours, take a look at the top right square and the bottom right square.

Another hint is once you find one, try to look diagonally as the three suitcases will create a line across the image.

If you’re still struggling, take a look below for the answers highlighted in red.

MAY FLOWERS

In this challenge, try to find the daffodils hidden in this image of colorful flowers.

Hope Grove Nurseries has created this brainteaser with three small daffodils waiting to be found.

Set yourself a 40-second timer and try to find them hidden among purple lavender plants and other colorful flowers.

If you need a hint, try to focus on the yellow flowers.

Daffodils are yellow so they are sneakily blending in with other flowers in the picture.

One may be hiding in the bottom right corner.

If you found them before the timer ran out, you beat a lot of other plant lovers.

The science behind optical illusions

This brief explanation may help to unscramble your brain...

  • Optical illusions make a little bit more sense when you learn that our eyes have very little to do with what we see and it is our brains that play the key role in creating images and trying to protect us from the potential threats around us
  • Our brain is constantly trying to make sense of the world at the quickest pace it can despite the world being in 3D and the images on our retinas being in 2D
  • It can be really difficult for your brain to interpret everything at once so it will often take shortcuts and give you a simplified version of what you see so you can have quicker reaction times if the object you’re looking at looks dangerous
  • When you look at an object what you’re really seeing is the light that bounced off of it and entered your eye, which is converted into electrical impulses that your brain then turns into an image
  • Our brains can warp straight lines if an object in the middle of them looks like it’s drawing closer as it wants to emphasize the potential threat
  • Different colours and light and dark can make the same sized objects look different or make patterned images look like they’re spinning
